Bat-Erdene Ganbaatar
Bat-Erdene is a Mongolian local guide who has specialised in Hustai National Park since 2022, walking international visitors through the valleys where the wild takhi come down to drink at dawn. By his own count he has served more than 1,000 travellers from abroad. His ground is the working craft of a Hustai day: which valleys the harems favour in each season, how far back to stand, how the park's logistics actually run, and how to read the steppe without disturbing what lives on it. Conservation awareness sits underneath all of it. Ask him what he wants a guest to take home and the answer is not a photograph. It is an understanding of why this horse still exists, and what it costs to keep it wild.

What Bat-Erdene does and does not do here
Plainly: Bat-Erdene guides visitors in Hustai himself, but he does not operate or lead the two bookable trips this site features. The private day tour is run by Meet Mongolia Join Tours LLC and sold through Viator; the group day trip is run by Travel Mongolia and sold through GetYourGuide, each with its own drivers and guides. This site is an independent affiliate guide, not a tour operator and not the national park. Bat-Erdene's role here is research and honest reporting: he knows the park firsthand, season by season, so he vets both listings the way a working guide would, without pretending to be behind the wheel of either departure.
That line matters to us. A guide claiming firsthand experience he does not have is the exact thing this site was built to avoid.
How this site checks its facts
Every figure here traces to a real source. The two tours' ratings, review counts, durations, inclusions, pickup arrangements and cancellation terms come from the operators' official Viator and GetYourGuide listings, and we re-check them there rather than letting them drift. Where a value moves, like the price for a given date and group, we send you to the live listing instead of freezing a number that will go stale.
Park facts work the same way. The takhi story and the population figures come from the park's own English pages at hustai.mn, which currently count about 380 takhi in 34 harems, and every population number on this site names its source, because the counts differ between the park and outside reports. Where we could not verify something, such as a lunch menu or a drone policy, we say so and point you to the operator or park headquarters instead of guessing.
